Dipping our toe into the world of blogging.

Well, I’ve held off for long enough, but the time has come…I’m starting a blog. To be honest, I’m not 100% sure why I am blogging or what exactly I will be blogging about. The only thing I can be certain about is that it will a collection of random thoughts, information, posts, and ramblings.
So, much like a first date, here is a little bit about me. I am a furniture designer and builder, with an emphasis on children’s furniture. I do a variety of play tables, things to sit on, and other odds and ends. I like coming up with designs that are enticing to kids. Not just something to play on, but something that makes them want to play.
I’m also a firm believer in trying to be as environmentally responsible as possible. While I am not an “eco-saint”, I do my best and continually try to do more. I believe global warming is real and I believe we play a large role in it. I believe our environment is fragile and resilient at the same time. I believe we have a responsibility to the children of our planet to allow them, and future generations, to play outside, experience nature, eat real foods, and breath clean air.
I also love to get out and play. Biking, running, hiking, are all things that help keep me sane. Living 10 minutes from Pisgah National Forest, gives me the chance to help maintain at least some of my sanity.
And most importantly, I am a husband and dad. I appreciate the high level of tolerance that they appear to have for me and my “quirks”. I am a lucky man.
And so it begins…family, furniture, and blogs. Should be a good time!
